Because medicine is magic!
A grimoire probably brings to mind witches, right? It is a type of journal that is associated with witchcraft, used to reflect on one’s spiritual path. A grimoire can also be a way of reflecting on personal growth and a way to organize your thoughts. It can include personal experience, records of meaninful quotes or knowlege, and artwork and creativity.
I’m using this blog as a sort of grimoire to explore my growth in veterinary medicine (after all, medicine really is a type of magic!). Plus I’ll be jotting down things about life, creative ideas, maybe even including some artwork (I did get to take a veterinary illustration course, though I still need a lot of practice!)
Veterinary medicine is a wonderful, challenging, intense career path! Often times, as I’m learning about different drugs we use or procedures we can perform it does feel like learning magic. There is so much to the world of medicine, from recent breakthroughs to holistic techniques coming back around.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to go to veterinary school? Or maybe you’re curious about the insider information about why vets do some of the things they do? My first goal with this blog is to offer you insight into the world of veterinary medicine!
I also have a lot of hobbies and a passion for folklore and myth (primarily focused around Ireland and Scotland), which brings me to the next goal of my blog. Combining work and hobby, I will explore what a veterinarian’s role might be in myth and legend. Purely for the enjoyment of writing and wondering about fantastical creatures, I hope you find it as entertaining as I do!
